Premium New York experiences

Premium New York experiences

Private, hosted and hands-on. Go deeper into the Met, trade stories with a Wall Street insider, toss your own pizza or dine with a Broadway artist.

Explore experiences

Hosted by insiders

Art experts, a Wall Street trader, 9/11 docents, pizza makers and Broadway performers, each sharing the city they know best.

Private by design

Experiences built for your group, so the questions, the pace and the conversation are all yours.

Unhurried time

Room to linger over a painting, a story or a second slice. Nobody's rushing you on to the next stop.

New York, from the inside

A great tour tells you about a place. A premium experience puts you in the middle of it. Instead of joining a group behind a flag, you spend time with people who make their living in the world you've come to see: an art specialist who knows which Met galleries to linger in, a trader who can explain what really happens on Wall Street, a Broadway performer who'll teach you a routine, or a pizza maker who'll hand you the dough.

These are the experiences we'd book for our own friends and family. Most are private to your group, and all of them are designed and run by ExperienceFirst, the New York tour company founded here in 2009.

What makes it premium

It isn't about velvet ropes. It's about who you're with and how much of the city they can open up.

  • Hosts with real expertise

Every experience is led by someone who knows the subject from the inside, whether that's art history, finance, food or the stage.

  • Hands-on, not hands-off

Stretch pizza dough, learn a Broadway routine, strum a rock 'n' roll classic on a city sidewalk. You'll do things, not just watch them.

  • Time to go deeper

Smaller groups and a slower rhythm leave room for questions, detours and the conversations that become the best part of the trip.

Find your experience

Three ways into the city, depending on what lights you up.

Art and architecture

The Met in Depth skips the sprint-through-the-highlights approach and spends real time in the collections with a guide who knows them inside out.

Skyscrapers & Summit tells the story of Midtown's race to the sky, then takes you high above Grand Central to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt.

History up close

Wall Street with a trader explains the markets from someone who knows them firsthand, in the streets where the New York Stock Exchange began in 1792 with the Buttonwood Agreement.

9/11 with a docent offers a thoughtful, personal account of that day and the rebuilding that followed.

Food, music and Broadway

Graze through DUMBO under the bridges, or make your own pies at a pizza-making workshop and sit down to eat them.

Learn a routine at a Broadway dance workshop, share a private dinner with a Broadway artist, or pick up a guitar for a rock 'n' roll street music session that ends with you playing on a New York sidewalk.

Passing the Vessel at Hudson Yards on a private car tour

See it all by private luxury car

For a short visit, a milestone trip or anyone who'd rather not walk all day, a private luxury vehicle with your own guide is the most comfortable way to see New York.

Manhattan by private luxury car links the island's landmarks in a few relaxed hours. Brooklyn, Bronx & Queens by private luxury car crosses the bridges to the neighborhoods, murals and food most visitors never reach. The pace is yours, and so are the stops.

Made for the moments that matter

Families. Hands-on experiences keep every generation engaged. Kids who'd drift off in a museum will happily stretch pizza dough or learn a dance routine, and grandparents appreciate the relaxed pace.

Celebrations. Birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons and proposals deserve better than a crowded bus. A private dinner with a Broadway artist or an evening above Midtown gives you a story to tell for years.

Corporate groups. A pizza-making session or a Broadway workshop builds more team spirit than another conference dinner. Tell us about your group and we'll help you shape the day.

Planning a premium experience

A little planning goes a long way with hosted experiences.

Booking

  • Book early for weekends, holidays and December, when private hosts are in the highest demand.
  • Mention a birthday, anniversary or proposal when you book so your host can help make it special.
  • Share any dietary needs ahead of food experiences and dinners.

Pairing

  • Pair a morning at the Met with an afternoon in DUMBO for a day of art and food on both sides of the river.
  • Go from Wall Street to the 9/11 Memorial in one Lower Manhattan day; the two are a short walk apart.

On the day

  • Wear clothes you can move in for the dance workshop, and ones you don't mind dusting with flour for the pizza class.
